Lacey Leah's Monogrammed Jumper

Tonight I made this jumper for my cousin's little girl. She saw the doll jumper I had made and asked if I could matching ones for Lacey (her little girl) and her doll. She wanted it done with a purple monogram. I had a lot of fun with this. I just love the Curlz font from Embird. I dug in my button stash for the perfect buttons and found some cute purple heart buttons.

Tomorrow I will work on Jessica Ann's dress for Lacey's doll.

Rainy Monday

It's a rainy Monday here in PA. It was short days for both public school and cyberschool as it is the last two days of the semester. Timothy was done with school before 11:00 this morning, so I had some extra sewing time. I had cut out this jon-jon on Saturday, but today I put it together and did the embroidery on it. I am thinking ahead for Easter/Spring time. I embroidered "Jesus Loves Me" on it making it a cute Easter outfit for a little boy. I made a size 3T. Now that this is finished, I will be starting on a custom matching denim jumpers for a little girl and her doll. That's what I will be working on tomorrow and possibly Wednesday.

Please share my Etsy shop with your friends. I am trying to get as much traffic to my shop as possible. Thanks!!

What else do you do on a snow day??

You sew, of course!!! I was so excited about our coming snow storm that I couldn't sleep last night.... so I began to plan my next few items to sew for my Etsy shop. So, after our sledding adventure, I got to work. I made this horse-lovers a-line jumper. It's not only fully lined, but reversible as well.

What do you do on a snow day?

You go sledding!!! Kurt and I took Timothy down the street to the big hill by the elementary school. Getting there was an adventure because we weren't even to tell where the sidewalk was to walk. Once we got there, we had a blast! We all three had sleds, so we all got to sled. On the walk back home, a snow plow came by and splattered us in dirty, icky snow. I think we were all stunned that he did that! A cup of hot chocolate was just what we needed when we got home!!

Monogrammed Doll Dress

Christmas has come and gone again, and Martha needed a new dress. I got a pair of saddle shoes for her for Christmas, and decided that a denim jumper would look adorable with the saddle shoes. It's easy to find 18" doll clothes, but not so easy to find custom monogrammed doll dresses, so that is what I decided to do.

I made a basic A-line jumper and personalized it with her initial. I used white top stitching to give it more of a jeans jumper type appearance. The back is fastened with velcro. Martha looks adorable in her new jumper!

Smocked T-shirt

I finished this smocked t-shirt yesterday. It is for my Etsy shop. I made it in a 4T. The smocking plate came from a past issue of Sew Beautiful. I used rick rack instead of piping when inserting the smocking into the t-shirt.

As always, my favorite part was definitely the smocking. I could picture smock for hours. The construction is always my least favorite part but at least with adding inserts to t-shirts, the construction is minimal.

Smocked Purse

I have been working on this purse for a very long time. Well, I only started constructing the purse last night, but the smocking part has been in the works for a long time. I started it months ago, but then put it aside to work on some other things. I pulled it back out and started working on it again only to realize that I had missed a row in my 2nd seashell. Well, when you are smocking three identical items, missing a row is very noticeable - so I had to cut/rip the whole seashell out and do it again. It was worth the extra work to get the finished product. I am very pleased with this purse and look forward to making more in the future.

Smocked Socks

At our last Pagoda Pleaters meeting, I taught a lesson on how to smock socks. It was a lot of fun and very inspiring to see the creative ideas of the other ladies in our guild. We all smocked socks for ourselves. I made these in Christmas colors to wear over the Christmas holidays.

New Year's Organization Project

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to organize my smocking floss. I should have taken a before picture, but I forgot to. I bought plastic bobbins and wound (or rewound) all of my floss on them and added the corresponding numerical sticker to each bobbin. They are all in numerical order as well. I am so excited to have them all in order. I spent a while new year's eve and new year's day working on it. First resolution - check!
